A link-in-bio page is one page, at one address, that you put in the bio of your Instagram, TikTok or X account, and it gathers what your customer needs from you: WhatsApp, your location on the map, the menu, booking buttons, your accounts and your review link. The idea is like Linktree, a well-known name for this kind of page. This guide is for a local business owner: what to put on it, how to arrange it, how to see what your customers tap, and how to build one on SMTAK.

## What is a links page for?

A person who reaches your account usually wants one thing: to book, to ask, to find your location or to see the menu. If they have to hunt for it, they may leave. A links page puts those things in one place, and it stays useful when your offers change, because you edit the page, not the bio. It also works on a printed sheet or a receipt, with a QR code that opens it.

## What a local business puts on it

Order the buttons by what the customer wants first, and keep it to six or seven:

1. WhatsApp: to book, order or ask, with a ready message that starts the chat.
2. Location on the map: a link that opens your business in Google Maps, so people can reach you.
3. The menu or services and prices: see the [digital QR menu](https://smtak.com/en/blog/digital-menu-qr-for-restaurants.md) if you run a restaurant or cafe.
4. A Google Maps review link: create it for free with the [review link and QR tool](https://smtak.com/en/tools/google-review-link.md), worded as an invitation to share the experience.
5. Opening hours, especially in Ramadan and Eid.
6. Your other accounts, plus an email or phone number.

The review link is asked of every customer in the same way, with no reward and no filtering of the happy ones. The details are in the [guide to getting more reviews](https://smtak.com/en/blog/raising-google-reviews-guide.md).

## How to arrange it

- Put the most important action first. For a restaurant it may be the menu, for a salon booking on WhatsApp.
- Write button text in the customer's words: Book on WhatsApp beats Contact us.
- Make the page look like your account: the same name and logo, so the customer knows they are in the right place.
- Open it on your own phone before publishing. Most visitors will open it on a phone.
- Refresh it with the season: Ramadan hours, or a banner for an offer that has an end date.
- Keep the page light: one logo image and a few buttons that open quickly on a mobile network, since a visitor will not wait for a slow page.
- Use the banner for one thing at a time, such as changed hours or a seasonal offer, and remove it when it ends.
- Do not hide your phone number behind many buttons.

## Two example layouts

- Restaurant: the menu first, then WhatsApp to book or order, then the location, then opening hours, then the review link, then your accounts.
- Salon or clinic: booking on WhatsApp first, then the location, then services and prices, then opening hours, then the review link.

These are suggested orders, not a fixed rule. Try what suits your customers, and change it when the numbers show that your visitors look for something else.

## Common mistakes on a links page

- Ten or more buttons in no order, so the visitor does not know where to start.
- Old links that open a deleted page or an offer that has ended. Review the buttons every month.
- A vague button label like Click here that does not say what happens next.
- A review link worded to push customers toward five stars. Ask only for their honest opinion.
- A page never tried on a phone, with cut-off or tiny buttons.
- A page address that keeps changing, which breaks printed codes and sheets.

## Counting taps

You cannot tell which link works unless you count taps. Two or three weeks after publishing, see which buttons visitors tap and which nobody taps, then reorder or remove them. Do not compare your numbers with another business. What matters is the direction of your own numbers after each change.

## Where to put the page address

First in the bio of your Instagram, TikTok and X accounts. Then print it as a QR code on the receipt and on the table or counter, add it to your WhatsApp message signature, and to your Google profile if it has a suitable field. Each time it appears in a new place, the statistics tell you whether the code gets scanned.

## How to start

1. Write down what your customers ask most: booking, location, prices, hours.
2. Turn each question into one button with clear text.
3. Build and publish the page, then open it on your phone and on another phone.
4. Put its address in your account bios and on the receipt.
5. Check the statistics after two weeks and adjust the order.

## A links page on SMTAK

You build the page in the Pages section of the dashboard, and it publishes at smtak.com/p/your-business. What it actually has:

- A header with the business name and logo, and an optional display of your branch's Google rating.
- Buttons for links, a Google review, a location, a map card, a branch card, the menu, WhatsApp, calling, email, social accounts and sharing the page.
- Opening hours, a banner, a photo strip and a quote from a review.
- A Save contact button that downloads a contact card, which stays off until you turn it on.
- Statistics you open for 7, 30 or 90 days: page visits, QR scans, taps on each link, the tap rate, the most tapped link, and links nobody tapped.

To be precise about what is counted: ordinary links, the Google review link, the location, the map card and the branch card pass through an smtak.com address and are then sent on to their destination, so their taps are counted. WhatsApp, calling, email and social accounts open their apps directly, so they show no tap count. Visits from search engines and link previews are not counted, only people.

Publishing needs a paid plan that includes the page, or buying it on its own, with no plan, as a paid add-on; the free trial does not build it. Our links page is not free, and free tools exist for a simple links page that may be enough for you. The difference is that your page here is part of an account that also holds reviews, replies and the menu. The current plans and price appear with the details on the [link-in-bio page](https://smtak.com/en/link-in-bio.md).

## Frequently asked questions

### What is a links page and why does a local business need one?

One page at one address that you put in your account bio, gathering WhatsApp, your location, the menu, your review link and your accounts. A local business needs it because a customer reaches your account wanting one action, and the fewer steps they take, the less likely they are to leave.

### How do I make a links page for my account?

Collect the links your customer needs and order them by importance, then build a page with them in a links page tool, publish it and put its address in your account bio. On SMTAK you build it from the Pages section and it publishes at smtak.com/p/your-business.

### Is a links page free?

Free tools exist for a simple links page. The links page on SMTAK is not free: the free trial does not build it, and you need a paid plan that includes it or to buy it on its own as a paid add-on.

### Should I put my review link on the links page?

Yes, it is one of the best places for it. Create it with the review link and QR tool, and ask every customer in the same way, with no reward and without picking the happy ones.

### How do I see how many people tapped each link?

On SMTAK the statistics show taps on ordinary links, the review link, the location, the map and the branch card. WhatsApp, calling, email and social accounts open their apps directly, so they show no tap count.

### How many links should I put on the page?

Six or seven are enough for most businesses. Start with your customer's most important action, then check the statistics after a few weeks and remove what nobody taps.
